Hitachi introduces new EX1200-7 with enhanced, engine, hydraulics and in-cab comfort

Hitachi has introduced the third excavator to its EX-7 series.
Following the recent launch of the EX2600-7 and EX5600-7, the manufacturer said March 1 it is bringing the new EX1200-7 to customers in Canada, the U.S., Latin America and Brazil.
The excavator is fitted with a Tier 4 final Cummins engine that improves fuel efficiency six per cent compared to Hitachi’s previous model — with features such as auto-idle that reduces engine speed to save on fuel. The machine is designed for increased reliability and durability. It also boasts hydraulic system improvements and a flow regeneration valve to bolster efficiency.
The machine’s undercarriage has three single-sided upper rollers on each side of the track frame that help maintain track shoe clearance and reduce debris build-up, while its frame is designed to enhance longevity.
“With the cab resting on 6-point, support type, fluid-filled elastic mounts, the cab durability is significantly improved due to reduced shocks and vibrations,” the company notes.
Within the cab, the excavator features climate-controlled air conditioning, a weight-adjusting customizable seat and a large multi-functional display. Hitachi’s Aerial Angle 360-degree vision system is also an option.
